The Filipinos are generally cheerful people. We always have funny ideas and stories about life, love, work and leisure. Life is lifeless, love is loveless, work is dull, leisure is non-relaxing and getting together with people becomes boring if there is no funny story-telling and jokes. Everything under the sun when treated with Pinoy humor can bring smile and laughter! The Filipino Barber's Story in America

The following amusing story was e-mailed to me by an Ilocano friend. With due apology to my other Ilocano friends... and relatives, and other Ilocanos out there who might be offended by this story. Kuwentong Barbero lang po ito!

Story goes like this...

One day, a Pinoy barber who owns a barbershop in a Filipino community in Orange County, California, USA, cut the hair of a florist, who asked him: "How much do I owe you?"

The Pinoy barber said, "Nothing, I'm doing it for community service."

The following day, the Pinoy barber found a dozen of roses at the door of his barbershop.

Another day, the Pinoy barber cut the hair of a policeman, who asked him: "How much do I owe you?"

The Pinoy barber said "Nothing, I'm doing it for community service."

The following day, the Pinoy barber found a dozen of donuts in front of the door of his shop.

On one given Friday, the Pinoy barber cut the hair of an Ilocano guy, who asked him: "How much do I owe you?"

The Pinoy barber responded: "Nothing, I'm doing it for community service."

The following day in his shop, the Pinoy barber found 2 dozens of Ilocanos waiting for a free haircut!
